A Wonderful Season

What fun we are having this season, enjoying the holiday decorations and the thoughtfulness of others everywhere we turn. Our family has felt so blessed this season as we have done our best to rely on the the Lord for the things we need and desire. Earlier this year we had our savings account nearly wiped out when we woke up with no water and found we had to replace our water tank, electrical box, and pump. That was money we were grateful to have at the time, however it was planned specifically for the baby medical bills, Christmas, and traveling to California later in the year and when the baby comes. Thankfully the Lord has helped us find ways to recover and teach us important lessons that I'm so grateful to have learned in a lasting way, while fortunately, not suffering any tragic loss.

I made a claim to my insurance to see if they would reimburse us for having to repair our water system, not really expecting them to cover it, however, they were gracious enough to do so (after the deductible of course). Thinking, we were so blessed and "home free" in being able to pay for the baby bills (as babies are very expensive these days), the Lord continues to humble us, as he has made it clear to our minds, how we are to also help other families for Christmas this year. Although we often times are at fault of wanting bigger and better things for our family and ourselves, I have never felt so grateful during a holiday season, until now, for what we already have. To have our hearts shifted away from gifts (don't get me wrong, I love everyone having gifts under the tree) but more on the season of giving to those in more need than ourselves.

As we all rely on the Lord for everything we have, these experiences have given us the most meaningful gift we could ever ask for, for Christmas, and that is knowing that the Lord is truly mindful of our needs and the needs of our growing family, as well as others'. And His plan for blessing all His children, continues to put me in awe as it is always so perfectly orchestrated. What a wonderful season it is to feel thankfulness and gratitude, for many things, but especially for our Savior. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas season!
